Message First of all - the wax needs to be taken off wet (not dry). You ne3ed to small sections at a time. Due to the heat wave in Texas these days, it is also best to try to do the car as close to room temerature as possible.

Two "light" coats - then a body shine on top for even more depth. The proceedure is correct, althugh I'm not a fan of Meguire's anymore. The exception is the car wash as it is a decent product.

I am more concerned about the swirl marks as wax, polish etc, should never be done in circular motions. The path needs to follow the line of the car. It would be mit guess without seeing the car that the swirls may be in the clearcoat and the clay let you see them not by taking the contaminates out. Try a paint clense like P21S after the clat before the polish.

The next thing to look at is the type and weave of the towles. Use only a 100% terry cloth towel and a very tight weave similar or better to a cloth baby diaper.

Was the detergent you used "baby" detergent? soem detergents have brighteners and scents that leave a residue in the towel. Combined with detailing products can cause a haze or film look.

Feel free to get a hold of me with any other questions you might have.

Regards

: It's working, a few things I'm curious about:

: This stuff says to remove before it dries on the label. HTF do you do that? I'm applying it to a 1/4 of my hood at a time & it's drying before I finish applying. I'm assuming there's no reason to polish it in, since there's no polish in it. So I'm just applying to the surface. Anyway, did the hood in 1/4ths & applying twice to each surface. Nice deep shine but....

: OK, this is my whole procedure:
: washed the car earlier this week with Meguire's car wash gell & all it's done is sit in the garage since, so it had a little dust on it.
: used the 1st step in Meguire's 3 step
: used Meguire's clay bar & Meguire's quik detailer as lube for it
: used the 2nd step in Meguire's 3 step
: had to walk away from the car for a few hours
: used Meguire's quik detailer to remove any accumulated dust
: used IBIZ as stated on the label...

: I used twice washed terrycloth towels & cotton applicators, washed w/ detergent, then straight water. Heat dried & then tumbled for 30 minutes to remove as much lint as possible.

: Now, with all that being said, while buffing off the IBIZ, there's like a greasy haze on the car... like subtle swirl marks, but they follow the trail of the towel, so I know it's not the car's finish. They settle out a little w/ time, but I can stand & watch them for a long time & it never 'dries' up or anything. I can see this under the flourecent light in my garage, I image the sun will make this stand out. I buffed each section w/ a new towel to make sure I wasn't just rubbing the old IBIZ around on the newer stuff.

: Really odd. This is why I don't like stepping away from stuff I've made money using previously...

: Overall the finish is nice, good depth & it turned my green a shade deeper too. =) Just concerned that I'm doing something wrong here. Don't need the GQ-DZIII upset w/ me!
